DR. IGNACIO PERALTA

About Ignacio

Juan Ignacio Peralta was born in the town of Chascomús, Buenos Aires, Argentina. His father is a large animal veterinarian and Dr. Peralta was raised working with beef and dairy cattle and started tagging along and helping his dad at a very young age. After getting his Veterinary Degree at University of Buenos Aires in December 2007, he worked in La Dorita, one of the largest dairy farms in Argentina as a clinical veterinarian. There he confirmed that dairy cows were his passion. He decided to pursue advanced training in dairy through The Ohio State University where he spent one year working at North Florida Holsteins Dairy farm in Bell, Florida. He then returned to Trenque Lauquen, Argentina where he joined the Garcia Bouissou-Gens and Associates veterinary practice working with dairy and beef cattle and specialized in Reproduction and Herd Health for four years. During the same time, he also helped manage a local 1,000 cow dairy. Dr. Peralta later started doing nutrition and management consulting with an emphasis on a proactive approach and in training and motivating people. Dr. Peralta believes that with the dairy industry’s continued challenges, success depends on cows, people and excellent forages and his focus is to help dairies make decisions that will make them more profitable.
